On breaking things

Last weekend, I broke a pair of sunglasses.
It was only a month old.
I wore them on weekends.
On weekdays, I wore my cheapy ones - afraid that I'll ruin the nice ones.
I wore them my entire trip in Cherating.
I loved them to bits.
Beyond repair.
The last pair in that design.

Yesterday, while getting dressed for a meeting, I broke my belt.
A thin black weaved belt.
Beyond repair.
Nothing to hold my pants up.
In a foreign country.
An hour before the meeting.

Also yesterday, I was on the way back home from Singapore. 5 hours traveling down Monday night, 5 hours traveling up Tuesday evening, for a meeting that only took half an hour. Brilliant! Anxious to see my boyfriend after that extremely tiring ordeal, I find out 10 minutes before I arrive that his car can't start.
The battery broke.
Beyond repair.
He's stranded.
And so am I.
At two ends of the city.

@ranga:I'm actually still sulking over my sunnies more than his car battery or my leather belt :P

Oh well, at least there's a good reason to go shopping now.
