My 20.09.2009

At the start of the year, I was extremely excited that my birthday was on a really spectacular date:
1. It was on Sunday, the first day of Hari Raya.
2. This meant that there would be an additional public holiday making it a 4-day weekend!
3. It was 20.09.2009!
How.cool.is.that?!

Ecstatic, I tell Sharm, one of my bestest best friends from high school and Yugin, another old friend, who share the same birthday as I do. The same day. The same year. The same hospital! Sharm and I had plans to throw a big party together but she ended up getting accepted to become Super Master Dr. Sharmini in London. Yugin lives in Germany, and I think the only time we were in the same country for our birthdays were the years before we were 19.

But as usual (ask Praveen), a month before my birthday, I don't feel like making any birthday plans. Like the 10 year old kid that I am, I want my party planned for me. I refuse to coorporate and when Praveen asked me what I wanted, I gave him the option of getting me a dinosaur or the woolly mammoth. I know. Real brat. Poor him.

But the weekend came, and everything fell into place. On Saturday night, we had a few quiet drinks with close family and friends. On Sunday, Praveen brings me out for lunch, just the two of us, followed by a movie, and dinner with my family. On Monday, we have a 2 hour brunch with my parents and my aunt, and at 3-5pm, I was at Hammam enjoying the lovely Moroccan treat he got me :) And that's not all-there's more! We have dinner with friends a few short drinks after. On Tuesday morning, we gobble down some 'mee pok' before rushing off to the mall and the gym, and ended our 4-day birthday-holiday with a scrumptious meal prepared by daddy dearest.
